Making a Long Distance Call (United States)

  • Toll Free (800) Numbers
    1. Dial *9, PIN, wait for dial tone
    2. Dial 91 + 800 + seven digit number.
    These calls will not be billed to your account. They are toll free.

  • Using Your Albion College PIN Code
    1. Dial *9, PIN, wait for dial tone.
    2. Dial 91 + the area code and the seven digit number.
    These calls will be billed to your Personal or Business PIN
     

  • Using an AT&T/Ameritech (Michigan Bell) Calling Card
    1. After receiving dial tone, dial 90 + the area code and the seven digit number.
    2. After the number has been dialed a tone will sound and you'll hear "Ameritech" followed by a short message.
    These calls will be billed by your calling card company.
     
  • Making a Collect Call
    1. After receiving dial tone, dial 90 + the area code and the seven digit number.
    2. After the number has been dialed a tone will sound.
    3. After the tone wait for an operator. The operator will take the billing information from you.

Making an International Call

  • Using your Albion College PIN Code
    1. Dial *9, PIN,  wait for dial tone
    2. Dial 91 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + Phone Number.
      Wait at least 45 seconds for the ringing to start.
    These calls will be billed to your Personal or Business PIN
     

  • Using an AT&T/Ameritech (Michigan Bell) Calling Card
    1. Dial 90, dial 01 + Country Code + City Code + Phone Number.
    2. After the number has been dialed a tone will sound and you'll hear "AT&T" followed by a short message. Dial your calling card number and PIN as instructed.
    3. Wait at least 45 seconds for the ringing to start.
    These calls will be billed by your calling card company.
