On Campus Calls:
To Make a call to a Matsch University Campus station (2xxx, 4xxx, 6xxx,
7xxx):
- Dial the four digit extension.
- For emergency calls: Dial 911 or 7770 for Public Safety assistance.
Local Calls:
The following exchanges are local calls from Matsch University stations:

To dial a local call:
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- Dial the seven digit phone number.
Information Calls:
On Campus
- Dial 0 (Matsch University Operator).
Off Campus
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone, then dial 1 + area code + 555-1212, and your authcode.
Making a Long Distance Call (United States):
- Toll Free (800) Numbers
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone
- Dial 1 + 800 + seven digit number.
These calls will not be billed to your account. They are toll free.
- Using a Matsch University Authorization Code
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- Dial 1 + the area code and the seven digit number.
- Wait for an interrupted tone. Immediately dial your authorization code while
the
tone is sounding.
These calls will be billed to your authorization code account.
- Using an AT&T/Ameritech (Michigan Bell) Calling Card
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- After receiving dial tone, dial 0 + the area code and the seven digit number.
- After the number has been dialed a tone will sound and you'll hear "AT&T"
followed by a short message. Dial your calling card number and PIN as instructed.
These calls will be billed by your calling card company.
- Using another type of calling card (Sprint FONcard, MCI, etc.)
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- Dial the access phone number provided by the calling card vendor.
- Follow the instructions on the calling card.
These calls will be billed by your calling card company.
- Making a Collect Call
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- After receiving dial tone, dial 0 + the area code and the seven digit number.
- After the number has been dialed a tone will sound.
- After the tone wait for an operator. The operator will take the billing
information
from you.
Making an International Call
- Using a Matsch University Authorization Code
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- After receiving dial tone dial 011 + Country Code + City Code + Phone
Number
+ #. (You must put the "#" after the local number.)
- Wait for an interrupted tone. Immediately dial your authorization code while
the
tone is sounding.
- Wait at least 45 seconds for the ringing to start.
These calls will be billed to your authorization code account.
- Using an AT&T/Ameritech (Michigan Bell) Calling Card
- Dial 8, wait for dial tone.
- After receiving dial tone, dial 01 + Country Code + City Code + Phone
Number.
- After the number has been dialed a tone will sound and you'll hear "AT&T"
followed
by a short message. Dial your calling card number and PIN as instructed.
- Wait at least 45 seconds for the ringing to start.
These calls will be billed by your calling card company.
