The following is an example of the Daily Summary/Recap Report E-mailed to the site recipient each morning. Each full day's call detail records are analyzed and categorized by type of call. The report discloses the number of calls, total duration, and cost for each category. The running totals are disclosed in the P-T-D section. NOTE: for NET-Bill customers the report breaks the detail into NET-Phacs (Faculty/Staff) and NET-Bill (Personal/Student) calls.
Note that the "800 Calls" category includes 800, 888, and 877 calls - all are considered to be 'toll free'.
The "LOCAL" category includes all 'seven-digit' calls (ie: no area code dialed) as well as 'ten-digit' calls if the area code and exchange is referenced within a table of local exchanges (for those sites able to access multiple area codes as local calls). This table of local exchanges is managed manually based upon information provided by each site.
The "INTERNATIONAL" call category includes International, N. American International and Canadian calls.
The "UNTYPED/BELOW MIN. DURATION" calls are (1) an incomplete number dialed, less than 7 digits, where we cannot determine the call type is UNTYPED and (2) any call with a duration less than the defined call duration, usually 30 seconds, are BELOW MIN. DURATION.
"UNASSIGNED EXTENSIONS" are new extensions for which the Div/Dept has not been defined and the default is being displayed. These extensions should be updated with the correct Div/Dept code, based on your organization (see Div/Dept). This report provides one total for new extensions created today and one total for Period To Date extensions (all extensions not defined).
The costs for each category should be considered as estimates since the category for a particular call may change (and hence its cost) prior to billing. If local calls are to be rated at a fraction of a cent (ie: 0.086 / call), the fractional portion of the charge will be 'recovered' at billing time.
